You could need care at home for a variety of reasons, such as recovering from an illness, a handicap, a hospital stay, or rehabilitation at a nursing home.

You are entitled to tax relief on the cost of care provided if you hire a caregiver for yourself or a family member.
(A spouse, civil partner, child, or relative, including a relation through marriage or civil partnership, is considered a family member.) It’s crucial to remember that hiring a carer who solely handles housekeeping tasks will not qualify you for tax benefits.
In 2017, the maximum relief available for hiring a caregiver was €75,000. You have to apply for the relief every year. Tax assistance is available to you.
